About

Explorer Atlas is a source-cited atlas of historical movement. It exists because the geography of history — where people, ships, armies, and expeditions actually were, day by day — is trapped in books, logs, diaries, and military records. We extract that data, structure it, cite it, and make it explorable on an interactive map.

Every claim is traceable to a source. Where the historical record is uncertain, the map says so — uncertainty is not smoothed away.

The first published collection is William Bligh’s open-boat voyage of 1789.
